I have been a dog lover since I can remember. My grooming ambitions were inspired by the poodle of my life: Gustav. 

A poodle - regardless its size - spends relatively more time in its life on the grooming table, than what an average woman spends in front of the mirror, doing her make-up. This is not because groomers or pet parents are evil and inhumane. Simply, the luscious and dense coat of a poodle requires regular and thorough care.  

Gustav in all other areas of live is a happy, friendly and cooperative pup. He loves nothing more than to perform and please. Unfortunately, already from his first appointment it became clear that grooming poses a major challenge for him. At a certain point he was so stressed out on the table that he involuntarily emptied his anal glands. Right then and there I decided that I would care for his coat on my own. I was hoping that grooming him at home, not subjecting him to the undue stress of a strange place would help.

At least, this is what I imagined.... I had to realise quite quicly that grooming dogs - and in general, caring for our canine friends - is not an easy task. It requires much dedication, studying and on-the-job training. But my mind was set, I wanted to help Gustav, so I enrolled to grooming school.

During the course I was not only working with poodles, but also with different types of dogs with different types of coat. The more dogs I groomed the more two things became clear to me. One: most dogs struggle with some part of or with the entire grooming process. Second: I have found my true calling in working with dogs. 

Grooming is an important and essential part of every dog's health and well-being. My goal is to help my four-legged clients and their pet parents to get through regular grooming without any unnecessary difficulty.
